I learned so much and truly appreciate why such a fine chocolate is truly “worth it”. Our guide and the sales staff were so welcoming. You could tell how much the company and the product meant to them. Will be bringing our friends and out-of-state friends to the tour.

Three generations were in our party at the tasting, and we all enjoyed it for different reasons. We all agreed we would do it again!

Unique and enjoyable experience

Our three-generation family group all agreed the tasting was one of the best things we did during our Maine vacation. Everyone enjoyed learning about chocolate history and production, as well as the very interesting story of Bixby Chocolate. And, of course, tasting their wonderful wares! We did our tasting in the morning (there were parking spaces available on the street), then returned at the end of the day to get some goodies to take back with us. Thanks for an interesting and enjoyable experience!

Chocolate Experience

We came for the talk about the bean to bar process at Bixby, and then had a very swanky chocolate tasting session. It was a lovely time and we all went home with more treats to try. I have already had an at home tasting where my daughter and I shared different varieties we chose. I think chocolate sardines will be a Christmas stocking tradition from here forward.

A Lovely, Affordable Experience for Local Chocolate Lovers

My friend and I live over an hour away, but when I heard Bixby's was offering a chocolate tasting experience, I just had to come. The tour itself is rather short, but the samples are top-notch. They are committed to sustainability and avoiding using artificial colors, flavors, and preservatives in most of their products. As someone who took the Chocolate Tour in Boston, MA, I can say this is most of the flavor but none of the walking. If you've been curious about Bixby's Chocolate but don't know where to start, this tour will help you find what suits your taste buds.

Wonderful education and tasting experience

Kate, who founded Bisbee chocolate with her mother, led a group of us on a wonderful tour of the history and other ramifications of chocolate while we sampled really delicious gluten-free Bixby chocolate from different countries. Kate and her mother are so knowledgeable and ethical about chocolate and it’s context while producing a delicious product. Really recommend this wonderful tour and experience.

Hello-Unfortunately the tasting was not really what we expected. For what was offered, it was fine, but could be so much better.
A curated experience - 2-3 choices in what to taste- and more of a tour or being able to watch something in production.

We thoroughly enjoyed the chocolate tasting experience. The chocolate was amazing and the staff was attentive. She changed the options upon hearing my wife had a nut allergy.

Fantastic Chocolate!

We tasted several different kinds of chocolate, both dark and milk, and some included nuts and caramel. Our host was very informative and was able to show us how to distinguish different flavor aspects of each sample we tasted. The tasting also included a chocolate-infused coffee to help cleanse the palate between samples. Bixby should consider expanding the tasting into a full tour. It would've been really cool to see them actually making the chocolate, instead of peering at some equipment between the glass in the next room. But overall, it was a pretty unique experience, especially if you love chocolate!

Delicious and informative

I loved learning about the chocolate making process and how you source your cacao. It was so cool to see and taste a raw cacao nib, then taste other chocolates as well. I love how different regions have their own background taste. All your staff were amazing and kind. I can't wait to visit again next year.
